Challenge:

Switch Concepts wanted to move their hosting services over to a cloud solution which meant there was an opportunity to release some 300 servers that were in operation in a Slough Data Centre. They approached 3 different companies to bid on the equipment and happily, they chose Universal Computer Tech to work with. We provide a market-leading valuation and offered a very quick turnaround on testing and payment.

Solution:

Flux-IT worked with Switch Concepts over a 9-month period, buying all the servers as they came available. We collected up to 50 servers at a time and were able to fully test these within 5 days to meet the client’s requirements.

Result:

We provided a seamless and efficient process for the client to regain capital back on the decommissioned server hardware. Our team handled the equipment’s transportation, packing, and logistics, ensuring the equipment was transported safely and securely. By facilitating the buyback of the servers, we provided Switch Concepts with an agreed price for the kit while also helping them to dispose of it both ethically and responsibly. We provided full reports to Switch Concepts and we were able to transfer the warranties on the servers to the new owners, this also means there was very little adjustment required for the few failed parts. All the servers were re-purposed, reused and put into production. Extending the lifetime use of the servers and reducing the environmental impact of the destruction.

Testimonial:

“Universal Computer Tech was professional and reliable from the start of the project, they worked with us to meet deadlines and were always upfront with any issues which they also helped us overcome. Would definitely recommend them to other companies that are looking to release equity in their surplus server equipment”.

Challenge:

Yarm School is a co-educational independent day school that had accumulated a diverse surplus of networking equipment and was searching for a reliable and efficient way to dispose of it. The school’s goal was to ensure that the equipment was ethically and responsibly disposed of. It was also important to locate a buyer who could offer a fair price for the equipment.

Solution:

Our company (Universal Computer Tech) specialises in facilitating buybacks of IT equipment from businesses and educational institutions. We approached Yarm School with an offer to buy back their surplus networking equipment, including various Cisco switches.  We worked closely with the school to assess the condition and value of the kit. We then offered a buyback price.

Results:

We provided a seamless and efficient process for the school to dispose of its surplus stock. Our team handled the equipment’s transportation, packing, and logistics, ensuring the equipment was transported safely and securely. By facilitating the buyback of the surplus appliances, we provided Yarm School with an agreed price for the kit while also helping them to dispose of it both ethically and responsibly.

Testimonial:

“We were pleased with the professionalism and efficiency of this company in facilitating the buyback of our surplus networking equipment. The whole process was seamless, and the team was knowledgeable and responsive. We appreciated their commitment to ethical and responsible disposal of our stock.” – Mike Sweeney, Yarm School IT Department.

Challenge:

Trainline had a huge variety of network, server and storage equipment that was surplus to requirements following internal upgrades. They wanted to get the best value back on the old equipment and preferred to have a single point of contact. There was also a requirement to receive some new equipment as part of a trade-in deal.

Solution:

Universal Computer Tech initially approached us as they had a quantity of Cisco equipment that they wanted to release the equity on, and in the first instance, we collected many switches, routers and firewalls.

Result:

Since then we have had several collections from them, including helping to remove a number of servers from a data centre in Docklands London. Our aim is to provide a single point of contact for all their surplus and redundant equipment, making the whole process as simple and quick as possible.

Testimonial:

‘We have worked with Universal Computer Tech on quite a few projects now. They give us an upfront offer on our kit, come and collect, and always make payment on time. We have used other companies but found we came back to Universal Computer Tech as they were the most reliable. Always a great service from the guys there.’

Challenge:

Ferring Controlled Therapeutics, a Leading speciality in biopharmaceuticals, had projects running to fully install new IT infrastructure at a new manufacturing plant in Scotland and upgrade an existing building’s network capacity and wireless efficiency. They need help in procuring various items for the project to be completed on time, as they were having difficulty sourcing via their Cisco channel.

Solution:

Flux-IT worked with Ferring Controlled Therapeutics over a 6-month period, helping to supply the needed equipment in their new manufacturing building when the lead times and pricing was increasing during the manufacturing shortage.

The required hardware for these projects over the 6-month period totals 9 Cisco switches and ~80 Cisco APs along with the connection equipment related to these devices. All of the deadlines for delivery were met earlier than expected and the services provided were exactly as needed.

Testimonial:

Ferring Controlled Therapeutics Said; ‘The service and support received from Flux-IT were extremely refreshing, as a global company we are usually tied into contracts preventing us from approaching local suppliers directly but due to the lead times and equipment prices provided by Flux-IT at the time for what we needed we were more than willing to push through the exception. The kit we received was all as advertised and genuine, we had no issues with delivery and the lead times provided were accurate. We will be considering Flux-IT for our future IT requirements.
